Who Dares - Wins

On my to do list today, I had the task of buying a new security net for our trampoline, as the current one is just about to give up its' duty. Over the weekend I observed our kids trying out the most spectacular tricks on it and constantly flying into the security net. My husband kept reminding them again and again, to stay in the middle of the trampoline as the net is only for keeping them safe from accidents. They gave him a puzzled look and a big smile and instantly tried the next big jump to test their limits and promptly landed in the net again.

Well, while I was watching this typical scene, I was wondering when I last tested my limits? When did I last try to go further than I thought I could? or tested my courage? Does growing up mean to settle down in your comfort zone? Is puberty the last try to break out of it?

"Who Dares Wins" - Courage is like a muscle. If we train it, it gets better and stronger. This means, if we keep stepping out of our comfort zone regularly and keep testing our limits, the zone will get larger and we gain self confidence and courage. As a result, we will not so easily get off track and we will handle difficult situations with more ease.

We also live a more joyous life! Do you remember the last time when you jumped over your own shadow and did something daring? Maybe you asked someone you were attracted to for a date, or you are one of the crazy bungee jumpers, or during your last conversation with your boss you brought up your career aspirations? It is not important to always get what you want, but to go for it, to try it when it is meaningful to you!

I can still remember clearly when I was offered to accompany a pilot of a small double winged airplane during his flight-acrobatic training. It was exciting; I was scared but also full of anticipation! When we were in the air I soon lost track of where was up and where was down. I was laughing out loud and screaming at the same time, due to the vast amount of energy that was set free in me. Every cell of my body was electrified - it was one of the most intense moments in my life!

Up to today I still feel a little excited when I remember that experience and the strength it gave me! If I was able to do that, I am able to do almost anything!

Which limits are you going to test this week?

(For those who like to go way overboard, I am not suggesting that to you - everyone is accountable for their own actions or in-actions. ;-)
