“Measures of success are integral to realizing your aspirations.”

When you set goals, it’s important to make them measurable so you can keep score of your small and large successes along the way.

The very act of setting a goal and breaking it down into smaller parts, and then completing those parts one-by-one, will make you feel accomplished.

Remember that you can’t hit a target you can’t see!

Identify and clarify the smaller parts. With each smaller goal achieved reward yourself because you’re now one step closer to your dreams – something to celebrate and be proud of.

You have a choice. You can be confident or unconfident, happy or unhappy, attractive or unattractive, powerful or weak.

All these things start with you and what you tell yourself about what you can and cannot do.

Your mind is where you define your limits. If your inner thoughts are self-defeating, you will become what they tell you. If your thoughts are empowering, positive and upbeat, you will become that woman. It’s a self fulfilling prophecy.

Impress upon your mind what you want to be, not what you don’t want to be.

Many women find it difficult to say “No.” So they keep saying “Yes.”

Some women hurt when they hear praise. They shake their heads and deny their worth.

Many women resist love. They are the caregivers, but they are afraid to be taken care of.

Sometimes a woman wants to get intimate, but she is held back by shame.

Fear, shame and doubt eat away at your self-esteem. Today, decide the course YOU want to take. Don’t always feel compelled to flow with the current.

Say “No” firmly and loudly when you need to. When someone praises you, smile gently yet proudly. Allow yourself to be loved and cared for. Take control of your intimate moments by deciding and expressing what YOU want.

Allow discomfort to wash over you and fade away. Do the things that you REALLY want and throw away the mask that has been hiding you. You can do it!

There is no love in the world more absolute than a mother’s love for her child. No matter what your children do, you want to protect them. It doesn’t matter what mistakes they make, you believe they can still get it right.

What a gift you are to the world. By being steadfast and unconditional in your love, you help your children recover from their mistakes and gain the courage to face future hurdles.

You give them the strength and tenacity to become some of the world’s most valuable adults just like you knew they would.

Use your imagination to build a personal sanctuary. A place you can go for centering. A hideaway to refocus your attention and attitude.

Begin by imagining a favorite place, a relaxing and private place where you can enjoy being alone.
Perhaps it’s a tropical beach, a bench in the back yard or even a luxurious hotel room. Place yourself in this place and notice how you feel. Are you relaxed, calmer and more secure? Let these feelings sink into your core and feel the soothing relaxing peace of your solitude.

Your retreat is always there for you. If you’re feeling tired, stressed or unable to cope, use your mind’s eye to go to your special place.

It will change your day.

Does it seem like something or someone is always trying to steer you off track? You have a point of focus, an objective, or destination, then something comes along that captures your attention and points you in an entirely different direction.

Of course a certain amount of distraction can’t be avoided. The good news is there is something you can do to deal with these diversions and get back to being productive. The best solution is to simply accept them as inevitable, give them the attention they deserve, and then get back to the task at hand as quickly as possible.

Don’t let distractions upset you or derail your best intentions. Remember that an emotional reaction is likely to cost you far more time and energy than the distraction itself.

“A lesson from the lawn.”

Imagine if a blade of grass decided it had had enough. It was done with having its head snipped off every weekend and its seeds – its future – cut off in their prime. Who could blame it?

Yet, what does that ol’ blade of grass do? It doesn’t say: “I give up! I’m getting nowhere!” It just keeps on growing. It continually takes in the energy from the sunlight and magically converts carbon dioxide from the air into food to make more leaves and more seeds.

A blade of grass is resilient.

You too, can learn to be as resilient as the grass. You may be cut down on a regular basis, yet your strength is in standing up, dusting yourself off, and starting all over again. Even when grass is covered in concrete, it finds a way to grow up through the cracks.

And, so must you.

Take a “leaf” out of the grass’ book. Connect with your own resilience and keep on growing.

“Happiness is wanting what you have, not having what you want.”

At first glance this sounds like the same thing, take a closer look, it’s not.

If you’re completely fulfilled by spending time with your friends and family because you really want to be with them then you truly want what you have.

On the flip side, if you drive the nicest car and have a huge house, and have worked hard to get those things, then you’ve been successful at having what you want.

When you have what you want eventually the feeling of satisfaction wears off. Once you get what you want the old wants are replaced by new wants and the cycle continues. True happiness remains at bay.

Look around you, happiness may be closer than you think. It may just be a matter of changing what you value.
